Inspection, Repair & Maintenance

Due to the harsh and dynamic offshore environment, MODU and permanent production facility owners must carry out inspections on an ongoing basis to maintain class requirements, with repair and refurbishment work required regularly between major shipyard service periods. ICON uses specialist inspection to ensure maintenance, re-certification and repair scopes are properly executed, supporting quality control and readiness across ICON and third-party assets.

Inspection findings are reviewed in the context of how work will actually be executed, so proposed repairs are shaped around site conditions, installation methods and operational requirements, not just technical assessment in isolation. Engineering, project management and execution teams work together to define scopes, plan works and reduce disruption during delivery.

ICON has delivered inspection and follow-on refurbishment work across production rigs and MODUs, taking full ownership from engineering through to execution including design, fabrication and offshore installation. Where class society involvement is required, we liaise directly with verification bodies including DNV and ABS, removing that coordination burden from the operator.
