Inspections and Repairs
Due to the harsh and dynamic nature of the offshore environment, MODU owners are required to undertake inspections on an on-going basis to ensure class requirements are maintained.
Repair and refurbishment work in between major shipyard service periods is required on a regular basis.
ICON has been involved in a number of offshore inspections and follow-on refurbishment projects on MODUs including chain locker corrosion repair, hull impact damage repair, fairlead replacements, chain gypsy, heli-deck and main deck replacement works to name a few.

Replacing pneumatic or air-powered equipment, such as the chain hoists pictured here ready for despatch, is core business for ICON Engineering
These scopes may include design work, coordination with class societies such as DNV/ABS, fabrication and offshore installation. By taking complete ownership of these works, ICON can take your class approval headaches away by liaising directly with the necessary verification bodies.
