BW Energy engaged ICON Engineering to deliver Front End Engineering Design, project management and technical advisory services for the Maromba heavy oil field development offshore Brazil. ICON evaluated three field development concepts in parallel, including wellhead platform, mobile offshore production unit and subsea tie-back options, adopting a Deep FEED philosophy to improve estimate accuracy ahead of Final Investment Decision. Integrating multidisciplinary teams across Perth, Jakarta and Singapore, ICON identified potential pathways for significant capex reduction through existing asset repurposing.
