Santos engaged ICON Engineering to deliver engineering, fabrication and installation of permanent piping upgrades to a semisubmersible MODU ahead of a drilling and completions campaign on the Barossa field. ICON’s scope included upgrading the HP well test gas line from 6″ to 8″ and installing a new riserless mud recovery return line, both delivered to ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1 and Valaris standards. Laser scanning and PDMS modelling enabled offshore prefabrication with no rework, delivered with zero LTIs.
