A clear market shift in 1998 from using traditional  fixed jack-up platforms to semi-submersible floating rigs for field developments in Australian waters prompted ICON to first develop its products and services range. This shift bought about additional challenges during critical “locked to bottom” operations and the development of ICON’s rig safety equipment began. ICON has continued to innovate in this area over nearly 20 years; from the first inline string compensator delivered to Woodside in 1998, to the ARTP E series operated for both Chevron and Woodside flowback campaigns in 2016. ICON has now positioned itself as a market leader in this area, with a focus to provide operators with wide-ranging support beyond product delivery.
