Woodside Xena-2 Subsea Tree Transport and Installation
Icon Engineering successfully provided Woodside Energy with Wellhead Tree transport and installation systems and the support needed to land the Xena-2 tree to the wellhead at 180 metres water depth.
A challenging schedule required a focused, concerted effort and leveraged off ICON’s experience and knowledge in the critical field of offshore rig modifications.

Project delivery
ICON’s record of delivery drove Woodside to extend ICON’s core scope to include managing delivery and contingency planning key components which could present significant risk to overall delivery and budget of the project.
Early works required ICON to mobilise and remotely manage refurbishment of key deployment equipment located in Karratha. 3D point cloud survey scans were employed to confirm key interfaces and ensure incident free, safe deployment of the 39 Tonne, project critical subsea tree, deployed through the moonpool, to land on the Ocean Apex’s tree cart.
