Gravel Pack Support

ICON has been involved in a number of gravel pack operations which have been conducted off the back of Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, or on MODUs.

Large equipment spreads are required during these operations which sometimes exceed the Variable Deck Loading (VDL) or space requirements on some of the older drill rigs, making the AHTS option attractive to the operator.

Significant rig time normally associated with lifting and securing this type of equipment on board a MODU, is eliminated, not to mention the reduced exposure to associated HSE risks.

The AHTS spread can be prepared off-line and mobilised to the field ready to operate. Flexible lines are used to link the equipment on the dedicated gravel pack vessel to the rig.

Similar scopes have been performed on MODUs where the sea-fastening design is required to facilitate easy removal and re-installation to accommodate multiple campaigns.

ICON has been responsible for design of the deck layouts and sea-fastening, plus fabrication and offshore installation of the equipment.
