Chevon Yammaderry / Skate field: Coiled Tubing Re-completions

ICON Engineering was engaged by Chevron to provide engineering and procurement services relating to the Coiled Tube (CT) Re-completion operations on the Yammaderry #2 and Skate #4 wells, offshore WA.

The scope included the procurement and logistics to supply a suitable derrick crane, engineering design / drafting and project management.

The hire of the LR-classed SEP, ‘BHD Supply’ was arranged in order to perform the well re-completions and the barge mobilization works were carried out at Mermaid Marine Services’ yard in Dampier.

Following fit-out of the CT spread, a 15t stiff leg derrick crane and sundry 3rd party items in Dampier, the ‘BHD Supply’ was towed to the Yammaderry platform by tug, where after mooring, it was  jacked up adjacent to the platform for the CT operations.

Upon completion of the Yammaderry operations, it was jacked down and towed to the Skate platform, where similar procedures were followed. Following completion of the Skate work scope, the Supply was jacked down and towed back to Dampier for demobilization.

Engineering / Drafting / Management / Procurement & Logistics Work scope included:

  • Procurement, logistics to source/supply a suitable 15T derrick crane for the project requirements

  • Engineering the connections of the 15T Stiff Leg Derrick crane onto barge BHD Supply - including all associated steelwork

  • Leg Load calculations for barge BHD Supply during jacking, holding (legs locked) and crane operating conditions

  • Engineering for suitability of payload on existing Deck Infill Panels

  • Gangway landing platform

  • Review & approval by 3rd party ‘Lloyds Register London’ of the engineering calculations and drawings

  • Icon / CVX management and liaison with NOPSA to provide all the documentation requirements for

    the project “Safety Case”

  • Skate and Yammaderry platform’s caisson and helideck strength checks

  • Sea-fastening calculations for all 3rd party equipment that was required on the barge for the project

  • Stability Analysis (DPI approved) for barge BHD Supply’s equipment layout

  • Procurement/ Logistics of all the project equipment & material requirements

  • Design / drafting, procurement of mooring equipment (including mooring procedures) for the pre-lay mooring system & barge set up on location

  • Engineering /Purchasing and Logistics support as required throughout project duration

  • Barge Demobilization Dampier: Removing the Favco derrick crane, hire equipment & all 3rd party equipment from the barge at the completion of project.

Barge Mobilization from Dampier including:

  • Installation / commissioning of the Favco 60/15 Stiff Leg Derrick crane,

  • Installation & weld out of the project specific fabrication items,

  • 3rd party equipment layout & sea-fastening,

  • Layout & sea-fastening of project specific hire items,

  • Fit up & commissioning of submersible pumps & firewater system on the barge
