Southeast Asia’s clean energy transition took centre stage when ICON Engineering joined a 30-strong Australian delegation, representing 21 organisations, at the 2025 EnergyAsia conference and the Australia Southeast Asia Business Exchange (SEABX) program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 16β18 June 2025.
The delegation presented practical solutions to help drive the region’s shift toward cleaner energy, engaging with policymakers, industry leaders, and energy professionals from across Southeast Asia. For ICON, the conference offered a chance to connect its offshore engineering and renewable energy capabilities with a region rapidly diversifying its energy mix.
SEABX and Southeast Asia’s Clean Energy Transition
SEABX is Austrade’s flagship program for growing two-way trade between Australia and Southeast Asia, delivering sectoral business missions that help Australian exporters build partnerships and identify opportunities in fast-growing regional markets. ICON’s participation reflected the same international growth strategy that has already seen the company establish operations across Vietnam, Brunei, the Middle East, and Malaysia.

Applying Offshore Engineering Expertise to the Energy Transition
Southeast Asia’s clean energy transition presents a growing opportunity for ICON’s engineering disciplines, from structural and process engineering through to installation execution. As operators across the region balance continued oil and gas production with new renewable energy investment, ICON’s experience delivering rig-installed platforms, brownfield rejuvenation, and offshore renewable energy projects positions the company to support both sides of that transition.
