Conductor Lift Clamps

Overview

Push-type, pull-type and bearing-type gripper clamps.

ICON is proud to have developed the first push-type conductor tensioning system and is a world leader in this technology. We supply a range of conductor lift clamps designed to support safe handling, lifting and positioning of conductors during offshore drilling, installation and decommissioning. These clamps are used primarily on jack-up drilling rigs and are engineered to integrate seamlessly with conductor tensioning systems and rig lifting equipment.

ICON’s conductor lift clamps are designed for reliability, repeatable performance and ease of offshore use. The range includes push-type, pull-type and bearing-type gripper clamps, allowing selection based on conductor size, rig configuration and operational requirements.

All clamp types are developed with offshore execution in mind, incorporating robust load paths, secure gripping mechanisms and compatibility with common rig procedures.

Key Features / Benefits

Conductor lift clamps: safe and efficient conductor handling.

  • Secure conductor gripping

Clamp designs provide reliable load transfer and positive engagement with the conductor, reducing slip risk during lifting and handling.

  • Multiple clamp variants available

ICON supplies push-type, pull-type and bearing-type gripper clamps, enabling selection of the most suitable clamp for the installation method and rig layout.

  • Compatibility with conductor tensioning systems

Clamps are designed to integrate with ICON’s Conductor Tensioning Units (CTU) and Top Tensioning Systems (TTS), supporting coordinated lifting and tensioning operations.

  • Designed for offshore handling

Robust construction and practical geometry support safe installation, removal and handling in offshore environments.

  • Proven offshore performance

Clamp designs have been deployed across multiple offshore drilling campaigns and refined through operational experience.

  • Experienced offshore support

ICON provides technical guidance and offshore personnel to support correct clamp selection, installation and operation.

Technical Specifications

Available in configurations to suit a range of conductor sizes, loads and rig arrangements.

Clamp selection is based on conductor size, load case, rig configuration and installation methodology. Customised configurations can also be provided to suit non-standard conductor dimensions, loads or operational requirements. Contact ICON to discuss your project specific requirements.
